Agronomist Executive

Monday to Friday / 8 am - 5 pm
Job Duties
- Assist Sun Fresh expand its import/export markets while assuring that all growers and suppliers are able to meet all applicable standards for production volume, quality, and all governmental regulations for health, safety and agricultural disease.
- Analyze market and delivery conditions for fresh fruits and vegetables to determine present and future product availability in Latin America and other export markets.
- Analyze key factors affecting product availability, including: farming and weather conditions; outlook for growing season in grower countries; crop progress and condition reports; historical and actual production figures of fruit by country; postharvest quality in fresh market; and current and predicted freight conditions and costs.
- Buy and sell fresh fruit commodities.
- Travel - USA, Mexico, Central and South America (5 trips/year - 1 week each trip).
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agronomy Engineering, Agriculture, Field Crops, or Soil Management AND five (5) years of experience as Fruit sales representative, product manager, market manager, supply manager or related.
Applicants must have the following experience:
- (5 years) buying and selling fresh fruit commodities
- (4 years) working as Sales Representative or Product Manager in a fresh fruit industry
- Negotiating with Domestic and International Fruit Suppliers
- Import and export of produce to and from Chile and Latin America
- Market analysis or demand prediction
- Qlik Sense Software
- Commercializing different apple and pear varieties
- Analyzing product (Fresh Fruit) availability, post-harvest in different commodities
